Ruparelia Foundation has scooped a Conservation Education Award of Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC), TheSpy Uganda reports.
The Foundation which is under the Ruparelia Group was recognized at the UWEC’s 70th Anniversary Gala Dinner which was held at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Recognitions started with Dr Sudhir Ruparelia the founder of Ruparelia Foundation who was last week awarded for his tireless support towards the country’s wildlife conservation.
Handing over the award to the Dr Sudhir, Executive Director UWEC, Dr James Musinguzi noted that the Ruparelia foundation, under the Ruparelia group, sponsors a lion cub called Arie named after Dr Ruparelia Sudhir’s grand daughter and daughter to Ms Sheena Ruparelia.
He said the Foundation has always supported the Rhinos with food and medical assistance and it has been taking swift responses to UWEC’s requests.
Musinguzi said with the support from patriotic Ugandans and organization like Ruparelia Foundation, the facility has transformed over the years adding that the celebrations are crucial as this will help the public to appreciate and recognize where “we have come from and where they are going”.
“We urge more partners to join UWEC in conserving wildlife through sponsoring animals, generous contributions and coming to visit the facility.” Dr Musinguzi added.
