The children of a one Solomon Kamya who died in 2000, have petitioned the State House Anti Corruption Unit to intervene and help them regain their land fraudulently occupied by a one Veronica Kaihura under the alleged protection of Principal Judge Flavian Zeija.
The children; Kyeyune Peter, Herbet Katta, and Philip Ndugga in their petition state that after death of their father, one of their uncles took up the administration of their father’s property since they were minors and among the properties include land in Busiro at block 444 plot 214 and 227 at Nkumba Wakiso District which was later fraudulently sold to a one Veronica Kaihura.
”Some time in 2020, our clients had desire to distribute the land among themselves in equal proportion but they were frustrated when they conducted the research and discovered with shock that a one Veronica Kaihura had fraudulently got herself registered on the titles on 21st March 2003,” reads a petition inked by the lawyers of F.X Ogwado & Co.Advocates on behalf of the children.
They further state that they later landed on a sales agreement which was executed between their Uncle James Mwambala and Joyce Nansubuga and Veronica Kaihura which agreement was signed by Zeija as a witness.
”The conspicuous signature of the witness up on the purported agreement is that of Flavian Zeija of Zeija & Co.Advocates as he then was,” adds the petition.
The complainants accuse Zeija of having played a bigger part in denying them justice citing that even when they lodged a case at Entebbe Police Station, they were told that they [officers] received orders from Zeija not to take any action since he had interest in this case.
Not only the above but the petitioners also allege that Veronica has since connived with police to harass them by arresting their laborers accusing them of tress pass and she has since dragged them to court with multiple cases.
It’s against the above background that the late Kamya’s children petitioned State House Anti Corruption Unit to prevail up on Zeija and investigate circumstances under which he witnessed the fraudulent land deal.
”Investigate the fraudulent actions of Veronica Kaihura and prosecute her for the same,” they petition, ”Permanently restrain Veronica and Zeija from interfering with petitioner’s quiet enjoyment of their land.”
Meanwhile, our attempts to get a comment from Judiciary Spokesperson Jameson Karemani were futile. He hadn’t replied our Whatsapp messages by the time of publishing this story. Also, the known number of Dr Zeija couldn’t go through.
