Abdallah Kitatta, Body Guard Get Sentenced To 8 Yrs In Prison

Hajji Abdallah Kitatta,the former patron Boda Boda 2010 together with his body guard constable Ngobi Sowali have been sentenced to 8 years in prison by Gen. Andrew Gutti,Chairman of Makindye based Military Court martial.

Court justified its judgment and Kitatta got full jail sentence, he will serve the remaining 8 years, 8 months and 6days in prison after being found guilty of being in possession with a gun and bullets illegally.

Kitatta had spent I year and 2months on remand in luzira prison co-charged with ten other people and listed ASP Agasirwe as one of their defense witnesses over unlawful possession of firearms and ammunitions.

Meanwhile, his lawyer Shaban Swanya said he made an appeal number 9 on the remand and sentence which will not take long, about 2-3 months.

Kitatta and the others were arrested in January 2018 in operations by the chieftaincy of military intelligence (CMI) for their alleged involvement in the brutal killing of former case hospital accountant Francis Ekalungar.

It was alleged that Kitatta and his co-accused were found in possession of two pistols serial No.UGPOL00753421813 and DEPOIDEAS2008 and a submachine gun (SMG) serial No. UE4467/1998 all of which guns are a monopoly of the defence forces.

In addition, they were discovered to be in possession of 30 rounds of loose ammunition
