The U-17 Uganda Cubs have been drawn in group A of the Total Africa Cup of Nations draws held on Wednesday 24th, 2021.

Uganda will face the hosts’ Morocco, Ivory Coast, and Zambia in the same group and all the nations in the group have at least been in the competition more times than Uganda which makes it the underdog of the group.
The tournament that for the first time have 12 teams is slated to take place between March 6th to 31st.
The Cubs Head Coach Hamza Lutalo has full hopes that the Cubs will be able to put up a good performance despite the experience of the opponents.

“We are ready to face the teams that are in our group. As the technical team, we preparing the boys to face any kind of opposition because our target is to advance past the group stage.” Coach Lutalo stated.
This is the second time that Uganda is playing this Championship. The maiden appearance came in 2018 in Tanzania.

Uganda qualified for the 2021 tournament finals in Morroco after emerging Champions of CECAFA Zonal qualifiers last year in Rwanda after defeating neighbors Tanzania 3-1 in the finals.
Currently, the team is in high gear preparations in the camp at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru where they will set off to Morroco at the end of February or early March.
