Kampala: The former Deputy Governor Bank of Uganda Dr.Louis Kasekende was previously ousted from BoU after the expiry of his contract that was never renewed following controversies that led to closure of several commercial banks under dubious circumstances hence affecting the country’s economy.

After losing the BoU job, Kasekende who has for months been nursing wounds of poverty at his home, has now decided to front her 25 year daughter Angella Kasekende for National Parliamentary Female Youth in the forthcoming general elections.

Contesting as an independent candidate, Angella said she reached the decision of joining parliament to inspire the youth to take responsibility of their own future.

“I have put myself forward because I have come to the decision that time is extremely limited and precious to contribute to change. Young people must take responsibility for their own futures and not be caught up in the blame game that is all too common today,” Angella said.

The candidate said that her campaign platform shall be Hope, Growth and Prosperity. “I intend to launch an ambitious program, to foster a million real jobs by reworking current and future programs, redirecting investment and creating viable partnerships between education institutions, vocational centres, business and government.

Angella Kasekende currently consults at the International Law Institute-African Centre for Legal Excellence (ILI-ACLE).

She has a Business degree from University of Portsmouth and a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Sussex and also was awarded the Young and Emerging Leadership fellowship,2019 by the Leo Africa Institute.
