Kampala: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting is to take off today after a postponement last week.

According to the General Secretary of NRM party Justine Kasule Lumumba, the meeting is scheduled at 12:00pm at the state house Entebbe to revise the drafted party road map for the forthcoming 2020/2021 general elections.

However according to our inside sources in the party, today’s meeting came after a meeting of party Chairman President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni with some of the rebel NRM MPs whom he invited to first explain as to why they opposed the Age Limit Bill. According to sources, the tactical president needed this meeting of rebel MPs first, which he successfully conducted yesterday at state house in order to build consensus before calling the main general meeting.

Muzei wanted toIto first discuss with these ‘rebels’ who always oppose party agendas before the rest, that’s why it was abruptly pushed forward,” a source added.
