AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi Murder Case Adjourned To Aug 14th

Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court has adjourned former police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi’s murder case to Aug 14th 2018. State attorney Rachael Nabwiire informed Nakawa Magistrate court presided over by Grade One Magistrate his worship Noah Ssajjabi that investigations into the case are still ongoing.

“Your worship, I request to guarantee us more time so that police which is handling the investigations can get the right evidence pinning the accused persons,” she said. The Magistrate also extended the accused persons’ bail until then.

The accused are Ahmed Shaban Ssenfuka, Umar Maganda, Sheikh Musa Ntende, Hassan Tumusiime, Ibrahim Kissa, Hamid Magambo, Abdul-Majid Ojerere, Sauda Ayub, Osman Muhammed Omar, Asuman Mugoya, Ibrahim Ssemwanga alias superman and Swaleh Ddamulira.

Meanwhile, the defence lawyers led by Anthony Wameli requested court to dismiss the case for lack of evidence.

Kaweesi was brutally murdered on March 17, 2017, together with his body guard Kenneth Erau and driver Godfrey Mambewa by unknown assailants traveling on motorcycles in the city suburbs of Kulambiro, few meters from his home.
