Airtel Uganda Finally Wins 20-Year Operator License

Kampala: Telecommunications services provider Airtel Africa has today been issued a national telecom operator License in Uganda after paying USD74.6 million through its subsidiary Airtel Uganda Ltd. (Ambien Zolpidem)

Following a period of negotiation and transition to a new licensing regime, the new licence will commence on July 1 2020 and be valid for 20 years.

According to the new licence, Airtel Uganda will retain all its current spectrum subject to the law and terms of the assignment. The company says the scope of services will be the provision of basic telecommunication services, infrastructure services, and value-added telecommunication services.

In addition, Airtel Uganda will achieve coverage of 90% of the geographical boundary of Uganda within five years of the effective date of the licence – with a minimum obligation of providing voice and data services.
