As a result, Red Cross has dispatched a team to alert homesteads in Kilembe to be ready to relocate for their safety.
This is not the first time this incident has occurred noting that in July this very year, a heavy downpour left houses flooded and crop gardens destroyed by running water that swept through parts of the Kasese district.

The rains brought panic amongst residents and area leaders as sections of Mubuku and Nyamugasani rivers also burst their banks. The road connecting Kasese municipality to Kilembe was cut off. The most affected areas included Kyanjiki, Nyamwamba and parts of Kanyangeya in Kasese municipality.
Also, in May last year, major rivers in the district burst their banks after it rained heavily leaving more than 10,000 people displaced and many properties destroyed.
