This comes in the middle of heightened grievances among Baganda against the Kingdom’s prime minister-Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga accusing him of being irresponsible about their King’s safety after he alleged that Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi is suffering from an allergy in contrary to rumours that he was poisoned.
According to a statement penned by Mr. Kasolo Buganda subjects are warned against listening to falsehoods which he says are being spread by the ”people who are plotting to break the Buganda Kingdom” using the current state of King’s health.

”To break a Kingdom, one has to weaken its norms and rituals first. The fight to break Buganda is a well-calculated plan which has been implemented in phases over time. What you see on social media today is just the tip of the iceberg,” the kingdom warns via a statement.

“There has been an outpouring of concern and well wishes for the health and well being of Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II since the celebration of his 66th birthday on the 13th April 2021.
While we continue to pray for the Kabaka’s health and long life there is increasing concern and a need to guard against speculative, false and outright malicious allegations circulating on social media. The malicious falsehoods have ranged from an allegation that the Kabaka had passed away last year or that he was admitted on an emergency basis to Nakasero Hospital a few days ago.
There are also pointed attacks against senior members of the Royal Family, the Katikkiro and officials of the Kabaka’s government as well as against eminent Buganda personalities. The falsehoods and malicious allegations being instigated and spread by people who claim to love and be concerned about the Kabaka, whereas they are not.
In fact, there is a clear and discernible plot by those enemies of Buganda to use this opportunity to weaken the Kingdom by creating rifts amongst the people of Buganda and undermining the Kabaka’s officials, especially the Katikkiro, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga and other Kabaka’s strong supporters.
Please beware of the false messages that are going around. Let us be discerning and careful about what we see, hear or share on social media.
Do not lend a hand to the enemies of Buganda and Uganda by spreading false information which is intended to cause fear, alarm and undue excitement. The effort to weaken the Kingdom shall not succeed. The disguised, concern for the Kingdom should not deceive anyone.
Please do not pay any attention to misleading false social media message propagandists. They pretend to support Kabaka and Buganda when their real aim is to destroy Kabaka and Buganda.”
