Hon.Winfred Kiiza, the leader of opposition in parliament has said she is not leaving office until she gets official communication in writing from FDC leadership.
Last Friday Forum for Democratic Change party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) made Reshuffles in parliament where LoP Winnie Kizza, also woman MP for Kasese was dropped and replaced with Betty Aol Ochan, the Gulu Municipality.
Responding to the reshuffle at Parliament on Monday, Kiiza revealed that she was not ready to vacate her office without proper communication from her party president.
“On Friday I was out of the country in California representing Uganda on parliamentary work. I got news of the reshuffle from that side but up to now there is no official communication, we took oath to protect the constitution of Uganda, I must get an official communication with clear instructions on whom to handle over first,” bitter Winnie said.
She added, “These questions that are being asked are speculative because I can’t comment on what I’m not aware of”.
On the issue of press conference that was held by party president Eng.Patrick Oboi Amuriat on Friday announcing the reshuffle, Winnie responded by saying that she didn’t attend it because she was away.
On Saturday evening Eng.Patrick Amuriat told the whole country that the reshuffle was made because some party members were not active in day to day running of the party and others had rejected the party position of defiance.
His remarks raised more dust some saying that he could have fired those members who supported former president Mugisha Muntu.
POA said the changes would take immediate effect.
