Police in Kawempe has arrested another young lady for demanding for a ransom from her parents after she faked her own kidnap.
27 year old Najjim Gonza has been a food vendor at Mbiiko, in Jinja District and says she faked her kidnap because she wanted capital to start up a new business.
After hatching a plan on how to get ‘rich quick’ at her boyfriend Festo Kigomba’s home, who works with Maganjo Milling Factory in Kawempe,  Najiim  lied him that she wanted to live a new life with him. The unsuspecting boyfriend later left her home and went to work only for Gonza to call her mother demanding for Shs 6 million ransom before her imaginary captors kill her.
Her family immediately reported to police and her phone details were traced to be at her boyfriend’s house.
The unsuspecting boyfriend led investigators to his home and the allegedly kidnapped girlfriend was found cooking supper for the two. She was then arrested and taken to police for questioning.
Her mother, who had lost consciousness upon hearing the bad news is now undergoing treatment at Jinja Hospital while Gonza awaits to arraigned before court on charges yet to known.
