The State House Anti Corruption Unit (SH-ACU) together with Uganda Police have arraigned Asiimwe Francis, a Human Resource Manager at Lukonge Cotton Factory before the Jinja Grade 1 Magistrates Court on charges of Forcible Entry and Forcible Detainer on disputed land belonging to investors of Hard Rock Quarry Uganda Limited.

He has been remanded until 15/07/2024.

According to the Unit, between April and May 2024, the accused and others still at large fraudulently and forcefully entered on land and held possession of it, in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace against Hard Rock Quarry Uganda Limited who was entitled by law to possession of the said land located on Plot 68-72, Industrial Road in Masese, Jinja City.

SH-ACU was established under Article 99(4) of the constitution of Uganda, which gives the President executive powers to either directly or indirectly perform his duties or through officers subordinate to him.

Launched on 10th December 2018, SH-ACU coordinates with all constitutionally mandated agencies to ensure a corruption-free country.

The Unit also acts as a link between H.E. the President, citizens, and anti-corruption agencies to Anti-Corruption issues.
