Armed Robbers Steal Millions From Premier Sports Betting Company

The police in Kampala are hunting for a gang of armed thugs who robbed millions of shillings from Premier Sports Betting Company Limited in Bukesa,  Old Kampala, on Friday morning.

TheSpy Uganda has learnt that cops from Old Kampala Police Station responded to the armed robbery which took place at around 3:00 Am, but by the time they reached the scene the thugs had already fled.

Eyewitnesses reveal that four thugs armed with a rifle attacked the cashiers of the betting company,  put them on gunpoint before demanding for money and mobile phones.

However, after reaching the scene, the police quickly mobilised a response team that started hunting for the thugs.

A few hours later, an organized offensive operation led to the arrest of eight thugs, recovery of four motorcycles,  and cash totaling to Shs1,096,000  which was part of the money that had been robbed.

The police also recovered a SAR rifle and mobile phone, plus others tools from the thugs. We have established that two of the suspects are attached to SGA security company. 

The police also obtained statements from the cashiers who witnessed the attack and recorded information that will help them in the prosecution of the suspects.
