Bad Black Finally Gets Paid As Health Ministry Prepares To Give Accountability For COVID Funds

Cantankerous socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa aka Bad Black aka Masolo Queen is currently swimming in millions of shillings after being paid for the Coronavirus  advert she did in April this  year for the Ministry of Health.

For the past few days Bad Black has been in the news, demanding over Shs500m from the Ministry of Health, accusing the Ministry officials of allegedly refusing to pay her for an advert she did for them sensitizing sex workers  to stay away from truck drivers as a way of preventing the spread of Coronavirus.

Tweet from Health Ministry PS Dr Diana Atwine about public Accountability Address for COVID-19 funds

Although the Minister for Health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng had initially  denied allegations that the Ministry contracted Bad Black to do the advert saying that she volunteered to  do it, we have since learnt that Bad Black received a hefty sum of money on Saturday.

However, we have established that the money did not come out of the Ministry of Health coffers; it was instead contributed  by a group of National Resistance Movement (NRM) led by businessman Balaam Barugahara.

While receiving the  money on Saturday, Bad Black said that; “Thank you all who  have helped me in this struggle. I have been paid and no longer demand any money. Thank you Mzee. Thank you so much.”

She later showed off a box containing money after signing an agreement in the presence of Balaam  and others, as evidence that she had received the dime

Meanwhile, we have  learnt that Ministry of Health officials   are  set to give a public accountability for all the funds contributed by  individuals and organisations both local and international, towards the  fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This  revelation was made Saturday by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine, who revealed that the televised national address will be aired on UBC TV at 3:00Pm on Sunday.

She tweeted thus; “Tomorrow we will be giving accountability for the #COVID19 funds and donations, to the public. We believe in transparency as a key component in good service delivery.”
