Kireka: Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo Events, a renowned Bobi Wine concerts promoter who was abducted by armed uniformed men on Saturday from Centenary park, has been brought to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka.
Bajjo, who has visible signs of torture and trauma, was allowed meet his lawyer city Lord mayor Elias Lukwago and Abbey Musinguzi aka Abitex, another Bobi Wine concerts promoter. However, Abitex was also arrested at SIU and interrogated for hours, although he was later released. While commenting about the developments, Lukwago stated thus;
“Been at SIU Kireka for the rescue of comrade Andrew Mukasa t/a Bajjo Eventz Clear Process, who was kidnapped over the weekend. He has been interrogated over a video clip where he is said to have assured the Nation that Ugandans will invoke their sovereign authority and bring down Gen. Museveni’s regime before 2021. He recorded a charge and caution statement and was accordingly charged with incitement to violence and cyber crime under the computer misuse Act. He’s been denied a police bond and will hopefully be produced in court tomorrow, where a bail application shall be made. Abbey Musinguzi t/a Arbitex was briefly arrested at the said police facility but we managed to secure his release.” However, this goes without mentioning that now, as per this new development, the police seem to have dropped treason charges and amended the charge sheet to incitement of violence and cyber crime.
