Kampala: Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) acquired land measuring one acre in Buliisa district to construct a beach soccer facility.
The donation came from Kisansya Primary school in Buliisa Town council, Buliisa District.
UBSA chairman Deo Mutabazi graced the inspection of the site at Kisansya primary School and expressed his appreciation for the offer.
‘‘This shows that there is a great improvement of the game and a healthy relationship with all football stakeholders in Uganda. I thank Kitara Region for bearing a vision to have Beach soccer on region level as it is in FUFA president’ manifesto in the new term of office,’’ Mutabazi expressed.
The Mayor Buliisa Town council, Muliisa Epafurah was among the dignitaries who graced the official handover.
‘‘I am great full that this project is here. We shall offer the necessary support to this project and make it a reality. There many opportunities that come along with sports and football ball in particular,’’ Muliisa stated.
Other UBSA officials in attendance were Ali Mwebe (FUFA Football Director) Bashir Mutyaba (UBSA technical Director), Tonny Ssebagala ( UBSA Protocol/Events Manager) Mutebi Julius (UBSA Communication/Marketing Director).
Kitara region officials Diana Kaboha (Kitara Region FUFA women delegate), Ayebale James (Chairman Kitara Region football association), Kabwimukya George, Alinde Harunah (Hoima sports officer), Businge Favour Gilbert (UBSA co-ordinator Kitara Region) also attended.
The donation follows other generous offers to FUFA, following land at Kadiba in Mengo provided by the Church of Uganda, Lugazi (Buganda Kingdom) and by the Rujumba family along Kampala – Hoima road.
