A tragedy occurred on Wednesday morning in Nakawa Division, a Kampala suburb, after a speeding Uganda Police Force teargas truck knocked a boda-boda cyclist dead.
Eyewitnesses revealed to this website that the horrible incident happened near Total petrol station, a few meters from Nakawa Market, after the yet to be identified cyclist who was riding a Bajaj motorcycle number UDZ 074L, was crushed to death by the truck.
The eyewitnesses added that the Police Truck sped off towards Kampala side shortly after causing the accident, leaving the body lying on the tarmac.
However, by the time of filing this story the police were chasing away onlookers from gathering at the scene, so as to enforce the Ministry of Health directive on maintaining social distance to avoid the spread of Coronavirus.
The Uganda Police Spokesperson  Patrick Onyango is yet to issue a statement about this unfortunate incident after receiving a conclusive report from the traffic police, who are already investigating the matter.
