Bobi Wine Dares Gov’t Again, Vows To Stage Concert On Independence Day

By Spy Uganda

People Power pressure group leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine  is not about to give up on his musical career.

Spy Uganda has learnt that Bobi Wine is again back in arms with government, after making his plans of organising a musical concert on Wednesday October 9, 2019, which will be independence day.

Bobi Wine letter to Police

As a law abiding citizen, Bobi Wine has since written a letter to the Uganda Police Force, notifying them about his intention to hold a concert dubbed ‘Osobola Ku Independence’ , during which he is set to launch his new song titled ‘Osobola’, featuring Nubian Li.

In  his letter dated September 30, 2029, titled ‘NOTIFICATION OF A MUSIC CONCERT AND REQUEST FOR SECURITY, addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Okoth Ochola, Bobi Wine writes thus; “I write this letter in accordance with Section 5 of the Public Order Management Act 2011, to notify you of my intention to hold a music concert at One Love Beach in Wakiso on Independence Day October 9th, 2019.

I am the proprietor of the said venue. The music concert codenamed ‘Osobola Ku Independence’, is expected to attract approximately 10 thousand people and will run from 10:00Am till 11:00PM….”

He adds that “We also request for security for the said concert. On our part we’re ready to work with police to secure the venue and the revelers…..”

It should however be noted that this will be Bobi Wine’s third attempt to stage a music concert, after his ‘Kyarenga’ concerts at Namboole stadium and One Love Beach Busabala respectively were banned by police, over allegations that he mixes politics with music.

It is thus not clear whether the police will give him permission to stage a music concert this time round on Independence day or not.

Keep in mind that this year’s official Independence Day celebrations will be held in Sironko district, eastern Uganda.
