The National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his team of performers are currently in tears after their Dubai charity concert has been cancelled for reasons yet to be established.

The development comes just hours after Bobi wine revealed that he had been arrested, grilled and later released at the International airport in the United Arab Emirates.

According to Bobi Wine, authorities in Dubai have been instructed by the Ugandan embassy in the United Arab Emirates to cancel his music concert that was set to take place today, Saturday, October 08, 2022, to raise funds to enable Ugandans stuck in UAE to return home.

“Unfortunately our Charity Concert in Dubai has been cancelled! The venue owner has been instructed to cancel. The information available shows Ugandan authorities have been working tooth and nail to ensure it doesn’t happen!,” Bobi Wine said in a tweet.

“The first attempt was to deny me entry, and now this!” he added.

Bobi Wine had earlier revealed that he was first arrested and detained at Dubai airport before being interrogated for about thirteen hours with both his phone and passport confiscated on arrival.

However, after being grilled for hours, he was freed at around 9;30am this morning with hopes of the concert happening which hasn’t happened still.

“After 12 hrs, (8:30 pm to 9:30 am) I’ve been finally allowed into Dubai. Hoping that our charity concert, which seemed to be the source of these issues, will be allowed to proceed. We’re only trying to raise awareness and assist the many Ugandan and African Immigrant workers,” Bobi Wine said in a tweet on Saturday morning.
