Sunday May 10, 2020 has entered the books of records as the day when ghetto gladiator MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine caught national attention, not in politics this time, but through an online music concert dubbed ‘Ensasage Mu Nyumba’.

The music show,  which was staged via livestream on social
media, attracted thousands of viewers and was staged at Bobi wine’s home
Magere, Kyadondo, where he represents as a Member of Parliament.

Through the concert, Bobi Wine aimed at entertaining his fans during this COVID-19 Lockdown, as they celebrated World Mothers’ Day, especially after a couple of years without standing on stage to perform ever since he joined politics.

The show left many sweating after they engaged in swift dances inside  the comfort and safety of their homes and Spies reveal that among these was senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyama, who was part of those that watched Bobi Wine’s live show.

However, for Don, it’s not any news that he had a different assignment from his master to watch the show for obvious reasons.

But it is not only Wanyama who watched Bobi Wine’s online music show, we have since established that even other powerful people at State House watched the concert during which  the singer  performed most of his songs, many of which are not palatable to those in government.

The artiste-cum politician attracted the attention of his viewers by performing in front of his house, where the compound was lit up with disco lights and traditional dancers, making it more appealing and lively as fans watched different skits live.

After some few hours, Bobi Wine was accompanied by Nubian Li, after which they took their viewers down memory lane by performing all songs they did together. He however constantly mixed in songs done by famous artistes like Bob Marley and the Wailers.

One of our reporters who followed the entire show revealed that Bobi Wine’s online gig attracted thirty thousand live viewers (30, 000), forty four thousand reactions (44, 000) one hundred ninety five thousand (195, 000) comments and twenty four thousand (24,000), shares world wide, making it the first ever online show with such a huge following and viewership to ever happen in Uganda.

By the time the show ended many viewers were already impressed by what they had seen and some posted with excitement that it was worth  their data.

For instance, Markkhus Rhea posted: “The only problem they didn’t give us any option of paying. But this was great.”

Bobi Wine posted: “Thank you very much for the love ladies and gentlemen. Your online attendance was amazing (naye olulala mujja kusasula)! (www.gamepur.com)
