Kampala: Reports coming from Kololo indicate that a fire has gutted the office of Chief Justice Owiny Dollo at the Supreme Court chambers.
According to sources, a fire started inside Chief Justice Owiny Dollo’s office before he reported for work, but two judges of the Supreme Court, Elidaad Mwangushya and Mike Chibita, were on the premises and escaped unhurt.
”No injuries have been reported and all support staff have been safely evacuated,” said an eye witness adding that they first heard loud bangs on the third floor and later saw smoke coming out.
Four fire fighting machines were deployed and contained the fire and the fire brigade was able to put it out, but it had destroyed some items and equipment. Stay logged on as we wait for police to establish the cause and extent of the damage.
