USA: America’s superior court sitting in the Chatham County State of Georgia trashed a petition filed by president Donald J Trap and his party, in which they were challenging the electoral results, insisting that some votes came in long after the stipulated voting time had elapsed.
According to court, Trump’s petition lacked substantial evidence to call for action. Trump had wanted the court to command enforcement of electoral laws through which he sought to stop some votes that in his view came in late after the polling time. The petition was heard via Webex technology and determined on November 5 2020.
“Having read and considered the said petition, all argument and evidence of record, including the evidence presented at the hearing, and applicable law, the Court finds that there is no evidence that the ballots referenced in the petition were received after 7:00 p.m, on election day, thereby making those ballots invalid. Additionally, there is no evidence Chatham County Board of Elections or the Chatham County Board of Registrars has failed to comply with the law.
WHEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED that the above petition is DISMISSED. SO ORDERED, THIS THE 5TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2020,” reads part of the ruling.
Although a number of world leaders have since congratulated president-elect Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, trump has a stack to his guns accusing mainstream media of ‘declaring’ America’s next president. Trump claims the electoral process has been marred with ‘significant’ irregularities that want to robe his victory and that of the American people.
