Nakasongola, Uganda: Several people are feared to have died after a bus belonging to Link Bus Company in which they were traveling in lost control and overturned several times in Wabigalo, Nakasongola district on Sunday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was heading from Kampala towards Masindi district. However, when it reached Wabigalo, Nakasongola district, its front tyre burst, which forced it to swerve off the tarmac and roll several times. By the time it stopped, the bus was lying on its back. A few of the survivors managed to crawl out of the wreckage.
By the time of filing this story traffic police had been called to the scene to lift the wreckage of the ill-fated bus and establish the actual number of people who had died and those who sustained injuries.
We shall keep you updated about the developments in this tragic news when the police release an official statement about what could have caused the accident. However, we have learnt that the police in Nakasongola district have quickly responded to the accident scene and doing everything possible to help the victims.
