Retired army officer Maj. General Pecos Kutesa famously known for his book writing skills like Uganda’s Revolution 1979-1986 “How I Saw It” has died in India.
The sad news has been confirmed by UPDF spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso.
“UPDF fraternity regrets to announce the passing on of Lt.Gen. Pecos Kutesa which occurred today,” announced Byekwaso.
Gen. Kutesa earlier suffered kidney complications before he was taken abroad for comprehensive treatment.
Pecos Kutesa has died few days after Commander in Chief of all Uganda Armed Forces, President Yoweri Museveni set him into retirement.
Pecos was a former guerrilla-combatant who became a member of the Uganda Constituent Assembly in 1995, was commander of the UPDF Centre of Doctrine Development and Synthetisation at the time of retirement.
