Buganda kingdom prime minister Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga has accepted to officiate at the launch of SSP Emilian Kayima’s two books launch this Thursday at Hotel Africana, TheSpy Uganda has confirmed.
Kayima, former Police mouth piece and a teacher by profession, is set to launch his two books titled ‘Raising Great Children’ (Secrets of Successful parenting) and ‘Omuzadde N’onwana’ (Gunjulla Omwana Anawangula Ensi).
The launch of Kayima’s books is slated to be graced by several big-names who will include politicians, police officers, academicians, celebrities and other members of the public.
Kayima was appointed police spokesperson in 2017 by the former Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura, but later replaced by CP Fred Enanga.
Kayima’s Career Timeline
- 2004: Quit teaching and joined Uganda police
- 2005: Was passed out as an officer and later posted to Katwe Police Station as the officer-in-charge of the Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU)
- 2006: Became Assistant superintendent of police.
- Was then appointed the head of the Crime Prevention Desk, Kibuli
- Appointed acting head of CFPU
- 2011: Appointed Kampala Metropolitan Political Commissar
- Appointed a liaison officer at the Land Protection Unit
- 2012: Promoted to the rank of senior superintendent of police (SSP)
- 2016: Appointed KMP spokesperson replacing Patrick Onyango.
- November 2017: Former IGP Kale Kayihura appointed him Uganda Police spokesperson replacing Asan Kasingye.
- January 2018: Replaced by CP Fred Enanga.
