The Buikwe Police Station In-Charge (O/C) Gaston Twinamatsiko has been arrested and handed over to the Professional Standards Unit (PSU) for investigations over exhibiting impunity before the Land Commission of Inquiry on the fraudulent land acquisition at Kigaya- Golomolo Sub County.
The Commission’s Chairperson Justice Catherine Bamugemereire directed for the arrests after discovering that the Assistant Inspector of Police (ASP) Twinamatsiko was feeding them with contradicting and wrong information.
Twinamatsiko is said to have fraudulently purchased about 5 acreage of land in Kigaya village after borrowing money amounting to 10million shillings from one Mudasiru Mboowa who was the owner who failed to pay him back.
When asked whether he researched, known the boundaries and amount as well as followed the right process of acquiring this land before he took over, Twinamatsiko admited of having done nothing to own the land.
ASP Twinamatsiko is also accused of making orders to police officers to torture, evict people and causing the death of one Dickson Wasswa Mboowa under the conivance with the State Minister for Water and Environment Ronald Kibuule.
