Kampala: In a turn of events, Buganda Kingdom has clarified that the self-proclaimed ‘princess’ Bwanga Nalinya has never been a royal member of the Buganda Kingdom.
Kingdom Lawyer David Mpanga and Lt.Gen Proscovia Nalweyiso have told our sources that Bwanga has never been part of the known Buganda Princesses.
“Upon her arrest, I got guidance from Lt.Gen.Nalweyiso that Bwanga has never been part of the known Buganda Princesses. That’s why we decided to transfer her to Kampala for further interrogation,” Col Nakalema told our reporter via WhatsApp chat.
Bwanga was arrested on Thursday while allegedly impersonating as a State House worker working with Col Nakalema’s Anti-corruption Unit.
According to our sources, Bwanga had been tormenting residents of Kikyusa, taking their land and threatening them, boasting that she was working closely with Col Edith Nakalema’s office.
The same was confirmed by Nakalema via Twitter where she stated that Bwanga’s arrest followed allegations of land grabbing, tormenting, and causing the arrest of wanainchi who happen to own the land in question.
Meanwhile, Bwanga has refuted claims that she was arrested over impersonation or any other crime, but simply because she has been investigating certain police officers over alleged corruption together with PSU.
