The former Ndorwa County member of Parliament in Kabale District Zakayo Tumukunde has died.
The family has revealed that the former law maker who served in Obote 11 government has been battling cancer for many years.
“He has passed on today (Sunday) morning at his home in Nyakambu Kirigime southern division Kabale Municipality”,a family source said .
By the time of his death, Zakayo used to tell people that President M7 is a traitor, after amending a presidential age limit to allow him rule for life.
He also accused him of nepotism, corruption and failure in service delivery.
Before joining politics in 1980, hevserved as the head teacher Kabale secondary school, the post he quit to stand for the Ndorwa county MP seat on the UPC ticket which he won. In 2011 he stood for the Kabale municipality mayor race but lost to Dr.Pius Ruhemurana.
The family is contacting the Parliament to see if they can accord him a State funeral.
