Carry Books In Hands-Kyambogo Orders Students As It Bans Bags Over Bombs

According to the letter inked by the Dean of Students Kyambogo University-Mildred Tibananuka, all students will have to improvise other means of carrying books following the ban on bags in the institution.

Tibananuka says the decision was reached up on in the security meeting held on Friday 29 October, 2021 which put a temporary ban on bags and backpacks to lecture rooms as a precautionary measure to curb the risk of bomb explosives that have since put the nation on panic.

Tibananuka’s letter reads, “At a Kyambogo University security meeting held on Friday 29 October, 2021, it was observed that terrorism was at a growing rate in the country and the main media for carrying explosives were bags and backpacks. Therefore, in an effort to prevent terrorism in the University, it was agreed that students should not be allowed to carry bags and backpacks to lecture rooms.

Tibananuka’s Letter

The purpose of this communication therefore, is to inform you that students shall not be allowed to carry bags into lecture rooms. Students are advised to carry their books in the hands.”
