Cheating Gone Wrong: Police Officer Guns Down Wife Over Alleged Extra Marital Affairs

Kasese: Police in Kasese district are holding one of their own for shooting his wife dead after suspecting her of having an affair with another man.

According to the regional police, the fatal shooting happened in Burambira cell, Kikongo ward, Rugendabara town council in Kasese district.

The regional police spokesperson for Rwenzori East, ASP Nelson Tumushime identified the suspect as Cpl. Serdick Nickson Kamara, attached to Rubirizi Central Police station in Rubirizi district.

Kamara reportedly shot his wife, a 28-year-old Zureha Muhindo at around 6:00pm, killing her instantly after developing a misunderstanding which sources say roots from suspected extra-marital affairs.

Tumushime said they have already started investigations to establish details of the incident.

“True, we have arrested the officer for killing his wife, we have already launched our investigations into the incident to get more details,” Tumushime confirmed.

Joseph Thembo, one of the locals who was at a nearby shop at the time of the incident said they heard gunshots emerging from the house and reaching there, they found Muhindo lying in a pool of blood as the husband had already escaped from the house.

Medius Masika, another resident said the policeman believed his wife had been unfaithful to their relationship adding that on several occasions the two would have confrontations even in public.

Luka Kiiza, the deceased’s uncle has asked the police to expedite the investigation and ensure the culprit is punished according to the laws.
