KAMPALA, Uganda: A red flag has been raised regarding am eminent outbreak of cholera in Kampala. The deadly health endemic has hit some parts of Kampala.
The outbreak has been reported in Rubaga division, in areas of Kabaawo, Kabowa, Wankulukuku and other zones. Health officials from Kampala Capital City Authority admitted that there is a cholera outbreak after several infected people being rushed to Naguru Hospital. Dr Emmanuel Batiibwe, the Director China-Uganda Friendship Hospital in Naguru also confirmed the outbreak and urged people in Kampala and other areas to be cautious and practice proper hygiene to avoid contracting cholera. So far one person has died and several others are still battling for life at various health facilities within Kampala after contracting the killer disease.
However, today the ministry of health and KCCA dispatched a team of medics to the affected areas for a fact finding mission after which they update the country about the extent of the risk posed by the outbreak.
