City Tycoon Charles Muhangi Found Dead in His Buziga Home, Police Codons Off Scene!

Former rally ace and proprietor of Horizon Buses, Charles Muhangi has been discovered dead in his home in Buziga this morning!

Muhangi was discovered by his own little girl lifeless in his bed room. The cause of his death is still scanty.

Police’s Criminal investigations Department (CID) spokesperson Vincent Ssekatte confirmed the sad news and said that police has already gone to the scene, adding that investigations have already kicked off to ascertain what caused his death.

Muhangi spent the better part of Wednesday collecting his rent from his tenants on his buildings,’Bazannya Nengo’(formerly Nabukeera Plaza) and Horizon City (formerly Qualicell Bus terminal).

Muhangi who is former African and Ugandan rally champion has been embroiled in bitter war with two other city tycoons, Drake Lubega and Yanga Matovu over ownership of Qualicell building which battle he had won in court.

Qualicell Bus terminal Building Muhangi, Drake Lubega and Yanga have been fighting over.

They both recently met president Museveni over the same and had promised to settle the dispute himself.

Muhangi came to fame in 1999 when he broke the record and became the first Black African to win an African rally championship.

He again made his mark in the second edition of the Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.

Muhangi, driving his favoured Subaru Impreza which he later named ‘Ekitagururo’ won the championship.

The businessman, thought to be in his 60s, planned to actively engage in the public transport business again in a return to his roots. Muhangi started his business career in Bushenyi as a taxi driver before transitioning to running Horizon Coaches plying from Kampala.
