Kampala: Former Kampala Lord Mayor Alhajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala who died today at IHK hospital Kampala will lay to rest on 4th October 2020-according to family sources.

According to the family sources, Ssebagala’s death came after he was admitted over disorder in his stomach, commonly referred to as intussusception which he was battling in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the fortnight.
The 72-year-old businessman was mayor of Kampala from 1998 to 2011 and he had expressed in running in the coming elections for the same seat.
In 2006, Ntege Ssebagala had also expressed interest in running for the presidency as an independent candidate but later dropped out of the race.
Ssebagala owned several businesses in Kampala and most of his time as a politician he was a Democratic Party-leaning candidate.
TheSpy Uganda after breaking the sad news of Ssebagala’s death, a couple of leaders sent their eulogies via different social media platforms as seen below;
Opposition Betty Aol Ochan posted, “Saddened by the death of the former Kampala Mayor Al-Hajj Nasser Ntege Sebaggala (Seya)
My sincere condolences to the family, friends, people of Kampala and Uganda at large,” Ms Ochan.
Betty Nambooze, Mukono Municipality MP added, “Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala passes on….Allah amulamuze kissa”
National Unity Platform leader dubbed Kyadondo East legislator and presidential candidate Hon Robert Kyagulanyi posted, “Earlier, we checked on the family of our deceased elder comrade, Al-Hajj Nasser Ntege Ssebagala at the International Hospital Kampala (IHK).

I last spoke to Al-Hajj Ssebagala on phone three days ago, and he seemed to have greatly improved. It was a great shock to wake up to the news of his passing. We are working with the family regarding funeral arrangements. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna ilayhi raji’un.”
Mityana Municipality legislator Francis Zaake posted, “I am gutted by the death of Al-Hajj Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala, several days after he slipped and fell in his bathroom. I send my thoughts and prayers to his extended family, friends and relatives. May Hajji’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may Allah forgive him of all that went wrong. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”
Lewis Rubongoya dubbed NUP party’s Secretary-General posted, “Very saddened by the passing of Al-Hajj Nasser Ntege Ssebagala, a senior member of the National Unity Platform. Saddened that he has gone without seeing a new Uganda that he so much longed to see.”
