Disappointed father of fallen speaker Jacob Oulanyah, Nathan L’Okori has trashed the government’s claims that his son succumbed to cancer saying that let Ugandans not be confused he was poisoned.
“I’m not mourning in vain. I want to say it clearly. Jacob was poisoned. He told me. The poison affected his health so much. And he was operated on, doctors attempted to deal with the poison, the poison affected his health so badly by the time he was flown out for treatment he was not in a position to recover, he was too weak,” Nathan L’okori, the father of Jacob Oulanyah told mourners.
He also reported to the chief justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo that there is a certain lady muddling with Jacob’s estate hence appealing to him to safeguard it.
“Your lordship the Chief Justice, I have learned that a certain lady is muddling with Jacob’s estate, tempering, and hiding documents. You are the one in charge of laws in Uganda, I want you to safeguard Jacob’s estate from meddlers,” he said.
Oulanyah died on March 20th at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle in the United States.
The late Speaker was elected to that position on May 24, 2021, after defeating the former Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.
He had also served as Deputy Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, from May 2011 until May 2022.
