Controversy As Kadaga Accuses MP Ssewannyana Of ‘Disturbing’ FUFA Boss Magogo’s Peace

Kampala: There was a drama at Parliament today when the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga barked at Makindye West Member of Parliament Allan Ssewannyana for allegedly consistently disturbing the peace of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Moses Magogo.

This was after Ssewannyana made attempts to move a motion on the floor of Parliament about the FUFA tickets that caused problems for Magogo and saw him ssupended by FIFA for two months, on top of slapping him with a fine of USD10,000.

Kadaga tasked Ssewannyana to produce a report about tickets he alleged Magogo sold, which he didn’t have.

This latest development and setback for Ssewannyana means it is the end of the road for the Katwe FC chairman as far as pursuing government intervention in the Magogo ticket saga is concerned.

Kadaga went on to instruct her office assistants not to allow Ssewannyana back into her office in case he returns with issues concerning Magogo.

As a result of Ssewanyana’s alleged ‘constant harassment’ of Moses Magogo, Kadaga further cancelled all travel requisitions that he (Ssewannyana) had made to German and Portugal next week.

However, Kadaga’s decision left many eyebrows in parliament raised, with many questions about why she all of a sudden is protecting the all powerful Magogo from a hapless Ssewanyana, to reach the extent of accusing him of disturbing Magogo’s peace and cancelling his requests to travel abroad.
