Kampala: In a matter spearheaded by the State House Anti Corruption Unit’s Col.Edith Nakalema, Makindye Grade One Magistrate’s court has charged and remanded Godfrey Yiga, a car dealer, to Kitalya government prison until 14th October 2021 in connection to the death of renowned Ugandan Pastor Gideon Mulinde.
Pr Gideon Mulinde, 29 was a lawyer and son to Apostle John Mulinde of Trumpet Church Seguku (Prayer Mountain), where he was also co-pastoring.
According to Court documents, it’s alleged that the accused and one Deus Tusiime caused the death of Gideon Mulinde at Yesu Akwagala Medical Center when they gained access to him while in hospital and forcefully administered medicine which is said to have led to his death.
“Gideon felt pain in the abdomen and was taken to Yesu Akwagala Hospital for diagnosis and the case worsened until he breathed his last at about 8 p.m on Thursday 25, September,” one of the Church leaders shared with journalists shortly after Mulinde’s mysterious death.
According to Col.Edith Nakalema’s findings presented before Court, the accused and another still at large, allegedly sneaked into Yesu Amala Clinic and forcefully administered medicine which caused the death of Pastor Gideon Mulinde.
