The Law Development Centre Court has today remanded six people on charges of murder and Kidnap.
The accused include Shakur Mugabe Kamada, a hawker from Kisenyi, Bosco Olo John, Ali Dumba Salongo and a ‘witch doctor’ from Masajja,  Frank Sendi a Boda-boda rider from Kawempe, Brain Kaaya and Herbert Lukwago a property broker from Makindye Division.

According to the prosecution, the suspects on May 11th 2018 at the New Taxi Park on Namirembe Road, in Kampala kidnapped Rose Nakiseka and demanded shs 1,150,000 million shillings from her father as a ransom to rescue her. Nakiseka was later murdered.

The suspects were also charged with the alleged kidnap and murder of Halimah Rehema of Masajja in Makindye Sabagabo.

The Grade One Magistrate Joseline Nsenge didn’t allow them to plead against the offences on grounds that they are capital in nature and the court lacks jurisdiction to hear the offences.

The State Prosecutor Roseline Kipora asked the court to remand the accused persons arguing that investigations into their matter are still ongoing.

Nsenge remanded the suspects to Luzira until July 11th, 2018.

Meanwhile, there was drama at the court when Sadi Kizito claimed that the suspects are also responsible for the murder of his 19-year-old daughter Brinah Nalule, a student of YMCA Buwambo Campus.

Nalule was kidnapped from the Old Taxi Park and her body later recovered in Kabawo Zone in Mutundwe after her parents allegedly failed to raise 10 million shillings ransom.
