Kampala: Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has announced the closure of its offices for two weeks with effect from October 19, 2020, to September 2, 2020, due to suspected exposure to COVID-19.
According to a letter by UNRA management, its main registry offices located at Nakawa business park will be closed for the above mentioned period.

“Uganda National Roads Authority wishes to inform all her stakeholders that the main registry at Nakawa Business Park Block C First floor, will be closed for two weeks beginning Monday 19, October to 2nd November 2020.” reads part of the statement.
“The measure is precautionary as prescribed in the ministry of health standard operating procedures due to suspected exposure to COVID19.” adds the letter.

The management further advised its staff that all emails and other documents will be received electronically and that the physical documents may be delivered when it resumes operation.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in march this year, many government agencies have had to temporarily close or suspend workers due to fear of exposure to the deadly including the Uganda Police headquarters in Naguru, Kawempe Police station, UMEME Limited, among others. Uganda has so far registered 10,788 cases with 7066 and 97 deaths.
