COVID-19 Cases In Uganda Rise To 489, 32 New Cases Of Infections With 79 Recoveries

The number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in Uganda has risen to 489 cases after the Ministry of Health recorded 32 new cases of infected drivers on Monday June, 2020.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, results from samples tested on yesterday on 1, June, 2020 confirmed 32 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to in Uganda to 489.

The Ministry revealed that 19 of the new cases are truck drivers; 14 from Elegu,2 from Malaba,2 from Busia and 1 from Mutukula, while 13 cases were among contacts and alerts and Recoveries have since risen to 79.

Meanwhile, we have learnt  the Ministry Officials have revised the time of communicating the daily results from COVID-19 tests by adjusting the updating time from 11:00PM to 11:00AM every morning.

The communication was passed in a MoH tweet which says thus; “The @MinofHealthUG would like to inform you that results of COVID-19 samples tested will hereby be communicated to the public at 11:00am everyday.” As a way of preventing the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health urges Ugandans to wear face masks whenever in public places, wash hands frequently with soap or use sanitizer, avoid touching soft parts like the nose, eyes and mouth, maintaining social distance and staying home where possible, to stay safe
