COVID-19 Fever Engulfs NRM Bosses As Secretary General Kasule-Lumumba Tests Positive

Kampala: The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has tested positive for COVID-19 pandemic after seven days of self-isolation something that has left her contacts at the secretariate in a total panic.

This has been disclosed by the party national treasurer Rose Namayanja-Nsereko at the party’s 15th press briefing since the presidential campaigns kicked off in November this year.

“Our party Secretary-General has tested positive for COVID-19 Pandemic and but she is stable with no serious symptoms. The party business, however, will go on uninterrupted despite her physical absence from office,” Namayanja said.

She added, “I, therefore, appeal to politicians across the divide to carry out periodic tests on COVID-19 and open up if found positive to save there would be contacts from being victimised by their silence.”

As per yesterday, the Ministry of Health had registered 311 new cases from results of COVID-19 tested on 5 December 2020, bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 22,499.

The breakdown of the new cases are: 310 contacts and alerts: Kampala (201), Mbarara (24), Ntungamo (17), Wakiso (17), Isingiro (10), Buhweju (9), Ibanda (8), Rwampara (6), Kyotera (6), Luwero (4), Bushenyi (3), Kiruhura (3), Kamuli (1), Mitooma (1)  1 truck driver from Malaba.
