According to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 statistics, Kampala has remained a top hotspot of novel coronavirus that has since swallowed 374 Ugandans countrywide since the disease was declared early 2020.

This has further been confirmed by today’s number of infections released by the Ministry tested on 3 June 2021 that registered 513 cases in Kampala out of 670 Infections detected country wide.
According to the Ministry, the confirmed cases were detected out of 4,643 samples tested.
The breakdown of the new cases are:
670 contacts and Alerts: Kampala (513) Wakiso (35) Tororo (21) Mbarara (21) Moroto (16) Mbale (14) Zombo (10) Jinja (8) Mukono (7) Kabarole (4) Katakwi (4) Yumbe (2) Nwoya (2) Mukono (2) Gulu (1) Hoima (1) Kiryandongo (1) Mbale (1) Amuru (1).

Meanwhile, the Ministry has also revealed that as of today, the cumulative confirmed cases in Uganda stand at 51,676 cases with 634Â active cases on admission.
In the same vein, the Ministry says the total number of persons vaccinated ever since the exercise kicked off few months ago stand at 748,676.
