Kampala: According to the latest update from the Ministry of Health-Uganda, the harmonized death count has escalated to 1,873 deaths since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country earlier 2020.
Of the above reported deaths,1127 were Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) confirmed while 746 are deaths confirmed clinically as probably due to COVID.
In the same vein, Ministry has announced that results of COVID-19 tests done on 2 July 2021 confirmed 784 new cases bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 83,636.

The breakdown of the new cases are: 781 Contacts and Alerts: Kampala (320) Wakiso (70) Kanungu (37) Kibuku (36) Tororo (37) Masaka (28) Nakasongola (24) Mbale (21) Mpigi (16) Jinja (14) Bunyangabu (12) Gulu (12) Luwero (10) Pallisa (10) Kapchorwa (9) Kyotera (9) Soroti (9) Sembabule (8) Busia (7) Arua (6) Kabarole (5) Bundibugyo (5) Kyenjojo (5) Mbarara (4).
