State minister for privatisation Evelyn Anite seems to have abandoned her ambitions to audit Uganda Telecom.
SpyUganda has learnt that Anite flew to United States of America two weeks ago, where she is attending a 3-month postgraduate program at Harvard University.
Anite confirmed the development to our Spies when she revealed that she has already spent two weeks at Harvard and is scheduled to return to the country over the weekend, after which she will fly back to USA.
“Glory to the Almighty; I am now proud graduate of Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. I am currently at Harvard Business School for Senior Executive Program- Africa,” said Anite.
She added that “I will be frequenting the States till the program is completed. I am expecting to be in Kampala on Saturday,”
Anite, who is the youngest minister in President Yoweri Museveni’s cabinet, was a few days back involved in a bitter spat with Finance Ministry Permanent Secretary Keith Muhakanizi and deputy Attorney General Mwesigwa Rukutana, over her ambitions to audit UTL.
She had also clashed with Rukutana and Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, the minister for Justice and Constitutional affairs after they frustrated her efforts to cause the removal of UTL administrator Twebaze Bemanya from the said position.
