Kampala: Following the release of 2023 UACE results, Victoria University Kampala (VU) is here to offer lasting solutions to learners who may not attained the best grades for admissions in higher institutions of learning.
Victoria University is offering new courses accredited by Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) that will see learners acquire certificates regardless of how they performed in O Level or A Level.
“We have identified a pressing issue: Many students’ futures are compromised by financial hurdles or an educational emphasis on grades over competencies at O & A level. Some students graduate from certain universities, with no skills to navigate the world of work. To address this, we are launching highly practical and hands-on UBTEB-accredited certificate programmes focused on skill development and practical knowledge,” the University announced recently.
According to Victoria University, these courses will not only prepare students for immediate employment but also offer pathways for further education, including diploma and degree courses.

Some of the UBTEB courses available at the university include; Certificate in Hotel and Institutional Catering, Certificate in Clearing and Forwarding, Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Certificate in Journalism and Media Studies, Certificate in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Agriculture studies.
To bring you up to speed, Victoria University’s Work Integrated Learning Programme places students in a natural working environment as part of the curriculum for every Programme hosted at this University.
