Sheema: The Kadhi of Sheema District Sheikh Abdumajidu Kamara has urged police officers to acquire enough training if they are to curb the rampant killings and abductions in Uganda these days.
Sheikh Kamara said in a one-on-one interview with our reporter, during which he said that; “The main role of police is to keep law and order but there is no way you can do that without enough training. Religiously a man is an understandable creature; he or she keeps on changing behaviours and actions. Therefore I urge the police to keep alert and acquire enough training and be flexible such that they can at least curb this habit of murder in our country.”
He added that “Moreover some murderers use phones to ask for a ransom and still can’t be got, why? Because training is still at low pace.” Sheikh Kamara noted that “A good example to show that police skills are still wanting is the CCTV cameras in the city. I thank president Yoweri Museveni for that initiative; but still it’s like criminals understand them better than the police. Even cameras record and save the information but it takes police a while to gather that information. That’s why most of the crimes are committed near these cameras to show us that they know something big about those cameras which police doesn’t know.
Kamara also commented on the new vice in Sheema district whereby women have greatly involved in murdering people at night, saying that even spiritually women are the root causers of sins. That therefore he can’t be surprised when he sees a woman involved in killings.
However, he advised women to avoid bad peer groups, to look after the property of their husbands plus dearly respecting the lives of others.
