Kampala: H.E President YK Museveni has appointed prominent media personality and sports analyst Nesta Larry Macura as Assistant Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Fort Portal City.
Nesta, a renowned media personality who Co-owned 93.3 Gold FM, Clouds Fm and King TV in Fort Portal had preciously worked as a regional coordinator in the office of the national chairman NRM (ONC). He is also a former minister of sports and culture in Tooro Kingdom.
Nesta’s name became a household item in 2000s in western Uganda while working at Hon.Nuuru Byamukama’s Endigyito Radio. His Radio career begun from Dr.Kuhura Nkuba’s Kara Fm in Kisementi, before joined Star Fm and then went to Western Uganda where be built his niche in sports presentation.
The recruitment exercise has also seen the president appoint James Kashaya Twebaze, a staunch pioneer member of Pan-African Pyramid based in Kampala.
James Kashaya is an experienced researcher and human resource consultant be profession. He goes with the above wealth of experience to oil City, Hoima, where has been posted as Deputy RCC. Others appointed across the country include Matua Job Richards for Arua city, Banjo Richard for Ibanda, Laban Kahonda for Kazo district, Polly Katwire for Mbarara city and the man who at one time emulated Dr.Stella Nyanzi and undressed for all to see, ‘Majambere’.
Speaking to our Chief Spy Andrew Irumba, the CEO of this website who also doubles as the founding Speaker, Pan-African Pyramid shortly after his appointment, Kashaya expressed gratitude for his appointment and acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Pan-African Pyramid in shaping his perspectives and providing a platform for his ideas during its weekly debates which sits every Friday at Fairway Hotel In Kampala.
”I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as Assistant Resident City Commissioner. I thank President Museveni for putting his trust in me and I am committed to upholding the values of integrity, diligence, and dedication in this new role” Kashaya said on phone call with Irumba.
”As a staunch pioneer member of the Pan-African Pyramid, I carry with me the ideals of unity, progress, and prosperity for our nation and I pledge to work tirelessly to contribute to the advancement and development of our beloved country, and I will always return home (PAP) Mr Speaker. he added.
Others include; Albert Kalirunga Bunyangabu District ,Asaba Frank Kabarole, Omujugujugu Moses for Isingiro District, Rose Muduni for Terego District, among others.
Roles For Assistant RDCs/RCCs.
Where as there are no specified roles, the Assistant RDCs/RCCs, most of whom are cadres of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) have been directed to carry out mobilization work on behalf of the RDC’s office, which is the Presidential representative at the district or city level.
The assistant RDCs will also follow instructions from the RDC and his Deputy although most of the work for will be government and NRM party.
The Assistant RDCs will also be charged with responsibilities such as fighting corruption, supervising government programmes and mobilization among others which even the RDCs and Deputy RDCs have been doing/still doing.
In preparation for their new roles, the appointees are set to undergo a comprehensive induction course at NALI- Kyankwanzi in May 2024 and to be given guidelines on how to take on their new roles.
