The Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga on Wednesday emphasized Catholics to be instruments of peace starting from their families.
During the Novena Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Nakulabye, Dr Lwanga said domestic violence is the cause of lost peace in the whole country and urged them to ask for God’s intervention.
“The current murders in the country is because we don’t have peace in our hearts as a sign of being raised in homes without peace therefore we cannot love others. And the only way to have peace is through putting God in the centre of our lives”.Dr Lwanga explained.
“Peace starts with us in our small communities, our homes and then spreads everywhere. We cannot be peaceful without creating peace with God, You have to pray hard in this month of Rosary because Mary is the source of peace”. He added
The Archbishop pointed out a time when Christianity was persecuted in Europe and said Catholics were emphasized by the Pope to pray the rosary without ceasing which helped them overcome.
The archbishop encouraged Catholics to use the month of Rosary to renew their connection with God, neighbours and all people around them.
“Unity is the only way to develop both spiritually and economically.”
