Dr.Kaziimba Mugalu In Congo For Enthronement Of New Archbishop

The Archbishop of Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has today arrived in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of the installation of Dr. Titre Ande as the next Primate and Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Congo.

The Province of the Anglican Church of the Congo is a province of the Anglican Communion, stretching over the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo.

Archbishop Elect Dr. Titre Ande will be succeeding Archbishop Zacharie Masimango Katanda.

Dr Titre is currently the Bishop of Aru Diocese. He gained a doctorate from Birmingham University in the UK. He was Principal of the Theological College for many years, and still teaches theology. He has been Bishop of Aru for 15 years and has been involved in training church leaders throughout the country.

Previously he asked Congolese and those around the Communion to pray for: “God’s mercy and blessing for an effective ‘transformational – servant – leadership’ actions in a country marked by violence and severe poverty.
