Education Boosted: Turkey, Uganda Ink Deal To Construct Cultural Institute In Uganda

Turkey will establish a cultural institute in Uganda to promote cultural ties, the Turkish ambassador to Uganda said on Friday.

After a meeting with Turkish academics, who are currently in Uganda in connection with the Mevlana Exchange Program, Kerem Alp said Turkey will establish the Yunus Emre Institute in Uganda to widen understanding of the Turkish culture.

Gazi Osman Pasa University rector Prof. Bunyamin Sahin and other Turkish academics attended the meeting.

The exchange program by the Council of Higher Education of Turkey will support Ugandan students and academic staff.

Turkey has provided hundreds of scholarships to Ugandan students.
